Savannah

For Labor Day weekend we decided to visit the beautiful city of Savannah, Ga. We met Chris' dad there on Friday. It was so much fun to relax and see the sites. We took the boat out on Saturay, which gave a whole new perspective from the last time I came here. There is so much more to see out in the waterways. My favorite part of our boat trip was seeing the dolphins that played all around. Chris got a little sea sick, but he got over it. On Sunday afternoon we took the kids to the beach at Tybee Island. They had a blast! Our friends Dave and Trisha Welsh from Erie, Pa were visiting family in Florida and decided to come up for Monday. We were so excited to see them and hang out for a few hours. The water got rough after lunch, and I am pretty sure Trisha will not be riding in a boat with us for a while, but we had fun any way. It was a great weekend!

It's better in Metter!

That's what my grandad used to always tell me as a little boy.  Metter is a small town in south Georgia we always stopped at on our way to Savannah.  You see, Metter does not have the big city conveniences like I am used to in Atlanta, but it does have the best milk shakes in the country.  Candler Pharmacy is located in the center of town and has been serving the best homemade milk shakes since my grandad was a little boy.  He went when he was a kid, he took me when I was a kid, and this weekend I carried on the tradition and took my kids for the first time.  And as always, "It was better in Metter!"
