It's better in Metter!

That's what my grandad used to always tell me as a little boy.  Metter is a small town in south Georgia we always stopped at on our way to Savannah.  You see, Metter does not have the big city conveniences like I am used to in Atlanta, but it does have the best milk shakes in the country.  Candler Pharmacy is located in the center of town and has been serving the best homemade milk shakes since my grandad was a little boy.  He went when he was a kid, he took me when I was a kid, and this weekend I carried on the tradition and took my kids for the first time.  And as always, "It was better in Metter!"

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is the 24th birthday of the most wonderful husband and father on earth (I am not partial). Chris, I wanted to say thank-you for how much you love us, how hard you work to provide for our family, and for  how you lead us spiritually. I have loved watching God shape you over the last nine years that I have known you. I love you so much and am so thankful for the man that you are today. I can't wait to see what God has for us in the next nine years. Happy Birthday Sweetheart.

A Day at the Park

Today the children and I met my grandma and my cousin Kenslie at a park near our house. We had a wonderful day. I think we had all been going a little stir crazy; so it was so nice to get out and let the children run around.

Backyard Fun

This Fall Chris and my grandfather completed construction on a playground in our backyard. We have spent a lot of time playing on it this summer. Last week Chris and Lawson discovered how much fun it can be to race the Tonka Trucks down the slide and let them crash.

Weekend in Knoxville

This weekend, Sherry and I spent some time with our great friends David, Rebekah, Mrs. Kiser and Ashlee K.  Today we headed down to World's Fair Park to have a little fun in the fountains.  We had a great time enjoying the company of our friends and trying to keep up with our kids.  While it took a little time for them to warm up to the idea of running through a fountain, we were having to drag them out when it was time to go.  What a great day!

Meet the Wayes

Sherry and I started dating in the winter of 1999.  Our first day together was a six hour bus ride to Boone North Carolina on a youth group ski trip.  That day I had no idea this was the girl I would spend the rest of my life with.  We were high school sweethearts through and through.  We both grew up in small town outside of Atlanta, and grew to love each other as every year passed.  We both both received Christ as our savior in early 1996, and have been faithfully serving Him ever since.  We both attended Crown College where Sherry got her degree in Elementary Education and I studied in Pastoral Ministry.  Sherry is now teaching at the Victory Baptist School and doing a wonderful job, she truly loves what she does.  The Lord has just recently called me to preach (or I just finally answered the call!!) and we are as excited as ever to be able to serve Him in whatever way we can.  The Lord has truly blessed our marriage, our two children and our lives.  Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of them.
Wow, I cant believe this beauty actually married me!!
